How the Session Works

Each family leads one Bizzy Bees session during the year. It’s a relaxed, fun way to share something your child enjoys, and you don’t need any teaching experience. Simply choose a theme and follow our familiar routine.

The morning begins at 8:50am as children settle in, unpack their things, put on their name tag, and practise writing their name. Parents sign in and help their child get ready for the day. At 9:00am everyone gathers on the mat for welcome songs, introductions, and the theme you’ve chosen. You’ll guide a simple song or rhyme, show a few flashcards, and read a short story connected to your theme.

Children then put on their hats and walk together to the playground for outdoor play. While the children explore, one parent cuts fruit and others supervise and chat quietly nearby. After play, parents help with toileting and handwashing before everyone returns for fruit time, where children share the platters and practise their manners. During this time, you set up the table activities for your theme.

A short mat time follows with a second story and a quick introduction to the activities you’ve prepared. Families then enjoy this creative time together until the end of the session, finishing with a simple pack‑away and a warm goodbye.

You’ll have access to plenty of resources on site, along with ready‑made ideas for crafts, songs, stories, and seasonal activities. Keep your session simple and enjoyable — and remember, other parents are there to support you throughout the morning.
